The writing was on the wall. The Theodore “Tappa” Whitmore reign is over after so many disappointing results for the Reggae Boyz. Tappa was relieved of his duties by Jamaica Football Federation, according to Sportsmax.TV.
Whitmore’s sacking comes after a disappointing final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign for the Reggae Boyz. Their opportunity of reaching the World Cup for next year is vanishing quickly.
Whitmore has been heavily criticized of not getting the best out of the Reggae Boyz strongest team on paper in Jamaican football history. The Reggae Boyz team is consisted of many professional European base players and North American base players, with majority of these players performing well for their football clubs. This is considered to be a luxury to have when compared to the CONCACAF region.
The Reggae Boyz team as played eight matches, after which they are in sixth position in the table standings of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. They have one win, four draws, three losses leaving them on seven points. The Reggae Boyz will have to finish fourth in the table in order to qualify for the playoff round. This position is currently being occupied by Panama in the table standings on fourteen points.
In his tenure as Head Coach of the Jamaica National Football team Whitmore manage to accomplish fifty five wins twenty one draws twenty nine losses, winning the Caribbean Cup 2010, Caribbean Cup Runner Up 2017, Gold Cup Runner Up 2017 and Gold Cup Semi Finalist 2019.

He’s a great player, but has no vision when coaching the boys. I’m surprised he wasn’t sacked earlier.
I am surprised at the late dismissal as well I can’t really see them making it to the World Cup without help from other teams which never helps because you need to have your faith in your own hands
Wait, he was still the captain? Thanks for the update! Cause I had no idea
Happy I am able to give you valuable information
